Geo: -26.346, -70.6243La Serena - Antofagasta would have been 1200km, way too far to ride in one trip, not to mention the tiring winds that hit you hard as a motorcycle rider...I decided to stay one night in this trucker town...Eating...Sleeping...and getting the hell out of there....Goodbye Chanaral, you will never see me again...Encountered a pack of wild dogs in that town who try to bite my leg...Encountered some not so nice Chileans with knives...Ciao bello... read more

28.11.2011 Antofagasta After dropping Lesley off at the airport, we headed back into town to get our Car papers so we can leave the country. We had to search for a while to find the registrario civil, and when we finallz found it, they told us that we have to wait another 21 days for the papers to be in the system..just another example of how slow and complicated south america is.. well,we decided to sleep on the beach tonight and head to San Pedro de Attacama tomorrow. We went to the cinema later on to whatch the newest Twilight, breaking dawn part 1, Matt fell asleep...lol Then we parked our car up outside a hotel directly on the beach and got ready to go to sleep..when we were all tucked up in bed, we realized ... read more

Hahahaha get the picture?? Tot snel!... read more

Since I last wrote, we have been taking life at a slightly slower pace, well that is until we climbed a 6056m volcano yesterday but more on that later. 20 November (day 27) - Travelling to Mendoza There is something slightly crazy about flying from Bariloche to Mendoza via Buenos Aires (if you look on a map you will see why), but that is what we had to do. We turned up at the airport slightly early as we knew giving back the car could take a while, only to find that our flight was at 12.30pm and not 11.30am - nice of them to tell us. Handing back the car was fairly easy, just quite costly. First the man read the clock wrong and tried to say we had driven 800km further than we had, ... read more

Parque Nacional Pan de Azúcar This was a long weekend in Chile. They were celebrating el día de la madre cristiana, the day of the Christian mother or Saint Mary's Day. Ben, Nick, and I decided to spend a day at Parque Nacional Pan de Azúcar which is only about an hour and a half from Caldera near the port town of Chañaral. We arrived in Chañaral at about 10:00am on Saturday. From the bus station we took a colectivo to the park which is about 30 minutes away. On the way we planned our day and decided to go to el mirador, the lookout, first. Unfortunately, the sky was covered in clouds and the mirador was up at cloud-level. Needless to say, we didn't see much but it was actually kind of peaceful being surrounded ... read more

What's up, kids? Been a while since my last blog. Since then I've been to Uruguay, back to Argentina, and then now in Chile. So, you'll notice that my photos are a compilation of these travels. Hope you like. Now I am traveling on my own. Been enjoying the experience again. After Uruguay I returned to Buenos Aires to meet up with my friend, Florian (Deutsch). We hung out for a couple of days. The second day hitting a dance club. Yes, what you hear is true. Germans like their techno dance clubs (poonchie poonchie music as Florian puts it). Had a good time. Although, Argentinian fems are a bit snobby. Whatever. I moved westward visiting Cordoba and Mendoza. While in Cordoba, I visited the small town where "Che" grew up. His childhood home was turned ... read more
