Trip Route
Actual planned trip route (updated) If travel trough out the world is a common dream... why not realize it???
Done: Countries visited 56
Europe: Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Vatican, Portugal, Spain, France, Monaco, Andorra, England, Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland
Middle East: Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Iran
Africa: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Rep. Dem. Congo, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi, Djibouti
Asia: Pakistan, China, Nepal, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar (don't count, too short), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Mongolia
The route: Travel trough three continents (Europe, Africa and Asia) in three years (Three and a half maybe?).
We already expanded from the original 2 years with 8 month for each continent!
Means of transportation: Anything available... boats, buses, cars, bikes, horses, camels, elephants, walking... but airplanes. Airplanes are made to take you to destinations, not to visit places!
We broke this rule four times (Ethiopia to Kenya, Djibouti to Yemen, Oman to Dubai and India to Singapore), but never jumped a country on the way (Myanmar, we've been there for 2 hours) and we still try not to fly.
Accommodation: As cheap as possible. Hostels, Guest houses, Friends, Nomad tents, Mud huts, Camping tents, Trains, Buses, Back of trucks, Couch-surfing, Hospitality-club, etc.
Team: Us two and anyone else that want to join.
8 friends joined us in different parts of the trip. Beside the many others backpackers we found in the route going to similar destinations
Dates: Start: August 2005 in Germany
End: October 2008 in Germany too. We will close the loop.
Already extended from the original July 2007 in Russia to include the Baltic countries
