J'ai souvent entendu dire ... read more

We left Manaus and the afternoon and arrived in Rio at night. We had a driver pick us up and we went straight to my grandma's house. Then we went to bed. My daddy left with Al to go the Gehlmans house because they were going to watch Ecuador v France. When they were there I stayed at my Grandma's house and Mariana babysat, We played on the computer together and stayed up until 2 in the morning. Finally we went to bed to sleep. The next morning I watched the USA v Germany game. My daddy was with Al at the Fanfest. USA lost but the played really good. We left Fortaleza in the middle of the night to go back to my grandma's house in Rio de Janeiro. When we go there, people were awake. We first went to my great grandmas house to hang out. She gave us some really good food that my mom used to always love. She had a nice apartment. I also saw 2 of my great aunts. We then went out to the fanfest in Copacabana to watch Spain play Chile with my mom, my dad, my brother, my aunt Mariana, and a friend named Patrick and one of his friends. At the fanfest it was so crowded I could not watch the game so instead I played in the sand. Spain lost, not that suprising after they got killed by Netherlands, and went home. Then we went ... read more

Sunday 27th So that was my last night at Gaynor's and after making sure that I had everything including my mosquito net we headed off to church. Another beautiful day as we stuffed my bags into Gaynor's car. The church was busier than last week and included the chaplain/some of the crew of a British warship en route to Argentina. They're away from home for 7 months and I realise that tomorrow I've been away 7 months, but also that I'm nearly at the end! After church say goodbye to Gaynor then head back to Roy & Noreen's where I'll be for a couple of nights. After lunch we look through photos of more of my extended family plus some photos from the 1940s Noreen has tracked down. After tea go to bed about 9 as ... read more
