Michael & Victoria We had planned to spend a few days in Rio and then head to either Parati or Ilha Grande but we loved the city so much that we ended up staying for about 10days! We found a great hostel (Ipanema Beach) that was really friendly and we met a really cool bunch of people there. We did the touristy things that you have to do in Rio (Christ, Sugar Loaf, Copacabana, a football game at the Maracana) but also took some time to do some shopping, relaxing and partying. We found some really nice restaurants (thanks for the recomendations, especially Gula Gula, Cyrille!) and some great Samba clubs. The great weather, people, and accomodation made it one of our favourite places so far and leaving was tough! Luckily though we managed to travel with some of our friends from the hostel (2 crazy beer drinking Belgians and Norwegians and a slightly more sober Irish guy, ironically!) down to the Iguazu falls and Buenos Aires.
