Hi Darlings, Jaja dat duurde lang hè. Jullie zitten natuurlijk allemaal al een tijd te wachten en smachten op nieuws van ons! Zouden we het nog goed maken of zijn we berooid, beroofd en beroerd. Komen we uberhaupt nog wel eens terug of zijn jullie ons voorgoed kwijt. Welnu, maak je niet langer zorgen. We doen het uitstekend. Op dit moment zitten we op Ilha Grande, vlak voor de kust van Brazilie, bij Rio de Janeiro in de buurt. Soms stellen we ons wel eens voor hoe jullie er bij zitten nu. Achter een krant, een TV of zoals nu achter de computer. Als je dat nu omdraait en je denkt aan hoe wij er bij zitten, denk dan aan een paradijs of een hemel. On with the tour, Having had an awesome few days in Rio we met up with our GAP tour group on Tuesday afternoon (the 13th Feb). Our tour leaders name is Geraldine and she is our age and from Peru. She is really cool and always ready to help. She speaks Portugese, Spanish and English so it is good to learn a few more things. We currently have 7 people in the group which is great because it is not too big. Christian and Raidun are a younger couple from Norway. Anna is our age and from NZ, Kathryn is from the UK (hey it´s not her fault) and Sol is an older guy from South Africa. We have been having a great time getting to know each other. Na 2,5 uur bussen vanuit Rio komen we aan in Angra dos Reis, een havenplaatsje om vanaf daar de boot te pakken naar Ilha grande. Begint het net mega te regenen en bleek dat de ferry net vertrokken was.. Er gingen nog misschien bootjes maar was ff afwachten.. gelukkig was de storm gauw verdwenen.. alleen nog wat regen.. met z´n allen op de boot en 2 uur later kwamen we dus aan op het schitterende eilandje. Het is een helemaal groen met een paar strandjes eiland en 1 centrumpje Abraao, waar alle restaurantjes, hostels zich bevinden. verder is het redelijk onbewoond en ongerept. Ons hostel Aquario is pefect.. lekker kamer, hangmatjes, uitzicht op zee en het hostel heeft een eigen bar en strandje..om toch ff een minpuntje te vertellen; willem zit aan de bar een biertje ... read more

Paatti Ilha Grandelle lähtee vasta iltapäivällä, joten päätimme katsastaa hieman ympärille Angra Dos Reissä. Eilen kaupat olivat kiinni, joten tänään käytiin kiertelemässä. Hotlamme sijaitsi keskustassa, joka oli täynnä pieniä kauppoja puutavaraliikkeistä vesiurheiluvälineisiin. Päätettiin kuitenkin hypätä bussiin ja lähteä kohti kaupungin ”el”ostoskeskusta. Perille päästyämme huomasimme, että ei ollut ostoskeskus hääppönen. Siellä oli samankaltaisia kauppoja mitä keskustassa, mutta ne olivat vaan lähempänä toisiaan. Se oli aika pikkuruinen ostoskeskus kaiken kaikkiaan. Koska bussia ei kuulunut keskustaan, pääteltiin kävellä takaisin. Aurinko alkoi tällöin yllättäen paistaa ja hotellille päästyämme totesimme, että katkaravun värinen turistipunotus oli iskostunut ihoon. Finally left Rio after party party party and went to this little island Illa Grande for a few days. On arriving not only was it raining but all the electricity had cut out!! It was cool just got wasted but couldn’t have a hot shower. Illa Grande is 183 km squared with lots of little treks around the island, however in the rain this isn’t the most appealing. On our second full day we were going to do a 3 hour trek to the beach at the other side of the island but due to a nasty hangover decided to catch the 1 hour boat journey instead. On arriving the weather was dry but not the best so we were glad that we didn’t waste all that energy! ... read more
