We caught an overnight bus from Florianopolis to Foz do Iguaçu in the interior of Brazil to go to Iguaçu National Park and to meet with our friend Kristine who flew down from Canada to meet us for the last three weeks of our trip. It was amazingly hot in Foz, maybe around 40 plus degrees which was a big adjustment for us after coming from the coast and the ocean breeze. Today the plan is to catch a cab and cross the border. After a leisurely breakfast, shower and change of clothes, we pack up and ask the front desk to organise a cab for us. 30mins later no cab had arrived!! The lady at the front desk tells us that her husband is crossing the border for business and will drop us off at our hostel. We finally get into the car and cross the last border to brazil, we are dropped off at our hostel, there is some dispute over the price of the ride, we negitiate and pay him what we think the right price should be. We head of to town to find some lunch - shwama's for lunch (hmmmmm, very delicious), spend the rest of the day exploring the town. So much ... read more
