Cows!Cows!Cows!

On our way to the Pantanal....traffic jam!! was great to see real cowboys moving the heard.

The Pantanal - the best place to see wildlife in a natural environment. It was amazing here, huge wetlands more than half the size of France!!

We booked a 5 day tour with Ecological Expeditions with two friends we met on the way - Jonny from Leister and Diederick from Holland which resulted in a hilarious couple of days.

We were picked up in a jeep and taken to the campsite, on the way we saw Caprivahs ( giant guinea pigs! ) very funny animals which me and Kate had been dying to see!

The first morning - awoken by birds around 5am in time for breakfast at 5.30 and ready to leave by 6 for a guided hike!! Yes it was hard the first morning but soon got used to being woken even earlier by monkeys, parrots, pigs and lost mooing cows!

We saw many animals on our hikes , Alligators, toucans, monkeys, raccoons and parrots! Was brilliant!

Back for lunch at 11am and a nap in the hammocks until our next trip down the river on a boat and a swim. Diner served at 8 pm so it was a long day!!! It

was a brilliant experience, really enjoyed seeing all the animals and also being in one place for a while.
I wasn’t too fond of the hammocks as our beds though!! Took a bit of getting used to !! Falling out early one morning didn’t help my enthusiasm about them!
