Yay, my dad came to Brasil finally by himself. He picked me up to go to Fortaleza. It was about a 4 hour plane ride. When we got there, we took a taxi to our hotel to drop off our stuff but then we left to go meet our friends Roy and Kevin Cardoso in a restaurant. I already knew Roy, but I did not know his brother, Kevin. So I met somebody new. We watched Chile beat Australia 3-1. they watched it and I was just playing with napkins.
The next day we went to our first game in the stadium. It was Costa Rica vs Uruguay. We got dressed up and painted and it was very nice to go to our first brazilian stadium. We were rooting for Costa Rica because we were rooting against Uruguay because in 1950 they beat brasil in brasil. Surprisingly, the underdogs Costa Rica wone 3-1 just like the Chile Australia game. Then we went to the fanfest to watch Italy play England. Roy and Kevin were cheering for England, but of course my dad and I were rooting for Italy because you know, I was born there. We changed into our Italy
clothes right before the game. Italy won 2-1. I was very happy.
The next day we went to the biggest waterpark in South America, that was called Beach Park because it is a beach and a water park. It is just like the water park in Florida called Rapids Water Park, but beach park was bigger and better. Some of the rides were really fun but scary. After, when we were about to go we quickly changed into our Argentina jerseys to go to fanfest to watch Argentina play Bosnia. Since people did not want Argentina to win anything, people weren't really caring for the game, some people gave me a weird look. I was happy that Argentina won 2-1 and Messi scored.

The next day we had a good lunch at a seafood place on the beach to watch the Germany Portugal game. It was 4 to 0 Germany! It was sad because Roy and Kevin are from Portugal and they probably were sad. We had shrimp and fish. It was yummy. After we went to an ice cream place. It was not an ordinary ice cream place because it was
called 50 flavors, but it really had 100. It was so cool because my dad tried wine ice cream but he did not choose that one. I chose nutella and white cream and dad had Obama because USA was playing.
Then we went back to the fanfest to watch the USA v Ghana game. Dempsey scored really fast. Then Ghana scored late but then John Brooks scored an even later goal and when the game was over they had a huge party in the front of the fanfest with all the Americans. I got on my dads shoulders and we danced and jumped. I got on the big screen.
The next day Roy and Kevin came back and we got ready for the Brazil Mexico game but we did not have tickets. We got dressed and face painted to go outside the stadium to see if we could get tickets. First when we got there we were just looking around to see if anyone selling tickets, but we could not find any so Kevin made signs that said that we need tickets in Portuguese. I held the sign up with a very sad face on. Finally we go
Way up at the top
Costa Rica v Uruguay, Fortaleza tickets and they were really good ones - Category 1 Row S. My mouth was open. It was great to see Brasil play up close and javier hernandez on the Mexico team. He waved at me I think. But the were good seats, but a bad game because it ended 0-0. It took us a long time to get back home because we could not get a taxi. We finally got on to a bus with a bunch of Mexicans singing loudly because, well, I do not know why. I guess they were proud of tying Brasil and not losing to them.

Daddy's Comments:
Wow, already 4 years since Sofia and I were in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. This time we had friends meeting us there, family in Brasil, and with Brasil's passion for soccer, this was sure to be an incredible world cup. Since Sofia described it well, I will just add my highlights
• Watching Costa Rica beat Uruguay
• Hanging out with Kevin and Roy (hotel
El Dorado Cafe) • Watching USA beat Ghana at the Fortaleza Fanfest and celebrating after the win
• Watching Italy beat England
and Argentina beating Bosnia at the Fortaleza Fanfest
• A day at
Beach Parkwith Sofia
• Getting tickets to Brasil v Mexico ....even though the game was not exciting, the build up to get tickets and the full stadium was incredible. Really funny to see Sofia with sign" need tickets" in portugues with a sad face
