Today, contrasting with yesterday's rather depressing note, here are pictures I took at the Orchid Centre right near Lençóis.

Purple Orchid

Big caterpillar-slug things

A good 10cm long. Easily

They actually are not hairy at all. They look more as if they were made out of rubber and then were badly painted all over. I found them in the pousada's garden. They are not dangerous at all.

hahaha i agree! but wow you managed to name ONE flower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can see some progress.. don't know why i'm saying that but the 'slug thing' looks like something pumba would eat in the lion king
