They actually are not hairy at all. They look more as if they were made out of rubber and then were badly painted all over. I found them in the pousada's garden. They are not dangerous at all.

while I like reading your more intricate articles on brazilian history and climate change, I get a real kick from your description of the brazilian flaura and fauna!
