From Uyuni we travelled to Potosi on a local Bolivian bus. The facilities were becoming more basic. The much needed toilet stop on this journey consisted of a 30 second stop at the side of the road (for the ladies too!).
Potosi is a silver mining town and also the highest city in the world apparrently, at 4070m. Our main excursion here was a tour down the mine which was an interesting and at times unpleasant experience. The miners work in appalling conditions and many die after 10 years of working down the mine. At the end of the tour the boys had great fun blowing up the dynamite which was legally purchased earlier that morning in the miner´s market!

great blog
Nick, Kerry, thanks for all the updates and the spectacular shots. I can see all that salt on the pans made you go a bit loopy, but it is very funny. Happy travelling and I can't wait to hear about more. Cheerio, J
