Copacabana to La Paz

We needed to come back to La Paz to get our flight to Rurrenbaque (the amazon jungle) a couple of days later (as the plan first was...but as Dad says you always need a plan to foul it up!) but a dreaded toothache changed all of this!. After visiting Fernando the dentist who reminded me just like Dougie Houser l was given some antibiotics to take for 7days 3 times a day- As l was feeling a bit sorry for myself l managed to pursuade Craig that we should have a burger king (it actually didnt take much pursuading) ! whata mistaka to maka!..que 24 hours of being very poorly! whilst trying to keep antibiotics down! We needed to do two things, postpone the jungle and check into a nice hotel with a private bathroom, cable television and room service! hello The Radisson!. One thing we found surprising was the amount of people like us - now they are either also poorly OR they are doing travelling totally different to us! glampackers instead of backpackers!

We ended up stopping in La paz for a week when we should have been and gone to the jungle, headed to Sucre and then Santa Cruz...Not too worry, two nights in the Radisson sorted me out and then we laid low in a lovely family run hotel back in the gringo ghetto!...Feeling much more rejunvenated and finally a size zero from the poorlyness! hurrah every cloud has a silver lining! we were back on it. Luckily, l managed to avoid a route canal for the time being. Who´d had thought that changes in altitude could play havoc with teeth! either way, thanks Dougie Houser hopefully never see you again!

As a treat we headed for a night out and were lucky enough to see/hear a fantastic set by two spanish guitar players, shoot some pool and have some drinkies! must be feeling better!

Things we learnt in La Paz part 2.

1) Again, anything is possible in La Paz

2) Dougie houser works international

3) Teeth dont like changes in altitude

4) Hurrah for the radisson hotel! Its OK to check in somewhere nice when the going gets tough! (even harder going back to the ghetto though!)

Glad you're feeling better. I guess going to a 5 star hotel is something to do with Dad & I! Glampackers indeed. Go well and keep up the blogs. xx
