CUSO Celebration
Here is a picture of Lisa, Alejandro, Joyce (another CUSO cooperant), Margott and me at the CUSO celebration. A week has passed since my last entry. Much has happened this week but nothing overly exciting. I have been to the CUSO office three times for orientation. One time for orientation about the country, and two times to expalin the guidlines and policies of CUSO. After the orientation of Monday, there was a celebration to welcome Mirko, a new director for CUSO here in Bolivia. It was also a celebration to celebrate Margott´s ten year anniverasary. Ten years at the same organziation! I wonder when I´ll ever celebrate my ten year anniversary with an organization. Probably won´t be for another ten years 😊
Tuesday was my first day of work. I arrived to work at eight-thirty to find the door to the office still locked. Until midday, I did not have a password to my computer, so I read alot and talked to my colleagues. By the time I received my password, it was time for lunch. I met up with my friends Alejandro and Lisa for lunch as they haven´t started work yet. After lunch, I returned to work at 2:30PM, however, I still had no idea what I should be doing. At 5:00PM, I had a meeting

So the week passed by and then Friday night came along. Kevin (a Canadian friend from work), his roommate Jens and Alejandro came over to my place for a few beers before heading out to a bar to meet another friend of ours, Nadia. After a few drinks at one bar, we jumped into a taxi and headed to a peña, a type of bar that has live Bolivian music. I don´t think I have ever seen to many passed out people in my life. I heard that drinking should be the national sport of Bolivia, but until I saw how much people were drinking at this peña, I had no idea. I even had a guy pass out on me... quite funny I must say. Along with our beers, we were supplied with a bowl of coca leaves to chew on...quite intereresting I must say. Finally, at about three in the morning we called it a night and jumped in a taxi to take us home. My first night out and I think

Mi
