To El Calafate we arrived just because of one thing only- glaciar Perito Moreno, one of the last advancing glaciares in the world and that makes him special. By the time we got there it started to rain and got quite cold, so we didnt really look forward to next 7 hours we were meant to spend there. The glaciar was massive - 5 km wide front and up to 60 m high, slowly moving into a lake. Most of it was white, but we could also see blue bits and also dark "vains", probably soil or stones. Weather started getting better and in the end we had to put sun cream on. We found great spot to watch it and were just looking for next bit of ice to fall off. Even the smallest bit caused massive noise. We were lucky, I think sun helped, and we saw falling really huge bits, causing big waves. In the end we had a great day and 7 hours of watching a piece of ice went by very fast.
