Laguna Los TresLaguna Los TresLaguna Los Tres

Took us all morning to get there, and all afternoon to get back, but it was worth it for this view...
Amigos!

This is going to be mainly a photographic blog as we've spent the last three days hiking in the north part of the Parque Nacional los Glaciares, seeing landscapes pretty much more stunning than I thought possible - and which I'm not feeling nearly poetical enough to describe...best leave the piccies to do the talking!

We've been staying in a small town called El Chalten which is very odd - it just grew up mainly as a centre for hiking and climbing and feels strangely temporary, even though its been there over 40 years. It is very dusty but the setting is just amazing, and perhaps as you would expect from a town where everyone goes to exercise, there are some amazing restaurants (any visitors, check out Malbec, one block away from the main street) and we've been stuffing ourselves senseless... But we've also managed to hike 30 miles more or less in the last two days so we feel like we've earnt it! I also have an entire family of blisters springing up on my left foot and am caning the Compeed. We've been REALLY lucky with the weather, which round these parts can be pretty windy

Given that we´re in a latin american country, shouldn´t this really have been preceded by an upside down exclamation mark?
and changeable, nothing but clear blue skies and sunshine. Si has a very red nose!

And tonight we're off to Chile on the bus!

So I will leave it there for now... Hope you're all well... Let us know the gossip from home!

Lots of love

We were feeling pretty pleased to have made it up to the top... but the woman who took this photo was about 80! I´m fairly sure she must have had jetboots.

Did I ever tell you I was never allowed a pet as a child? I wanted a terrapin, a cat or a dog. I got nowt. When I lived in Brockley there was a dead frog in the garden for a while, but I don´t think that counts. He was called Silvinho, by the way.
