08/03- 10/03: Salta:

After another long bus journey (using Andesmar bus company from Cordoba to Salta), we arrived in this nice little town full of museums and history.

Salta is one of the more popular tourist destinations in Argentina, based largely on its colonial architecture and natural scenery.

The main Plaza: Plaza 9 de Julio is home to a lot of restaurants and bars but also main museums. We visited the following:
Neo-classical CathedralMuseum of Contemporary Art(M.A.C.)Museum of High Mountain Archeology (M.A.M) - With artifacts from the Inca civilization including the preserved bodies of three Inca children.

There is also lots of churches around and the colours used make the town vibrant and give a change to what we know :
Iglesa San Francisco Church- Built in 1796 this is a beautiful church with remarkable tower.Iglesa La ViƱa - Another beautifully colourful church.

Salta & the surrounding region is famous for it's vineyards (and natural beauty), although we did not visit the vineyards we certainly spent plenty of time sampling the local vino!!!With little to disappoint... Oh how we love a good Malbec 😊
