Our World trip

We left to catch the morning bus from Paraty to Sao Paulo but this was full so we had to wait around for 4 hours for the next bus. This took 6 hours to arrive in Sao Paulo we then took another bus to Iquazu taking 18 hours. We arrived in Foz De Iquazu at 10.30am and stayed at hostel Bambu. We visited the Brazilian falls that afternoon with our new Brazilian friend Chris. We got an open top bus to the trail which was beautiful and gave you an overview of the falls. There were Coaties along the paths and butterflies everywhere. There were so many waterfalls and the main attraction was The Devils Throat, the most powerful one of all. That night we went for Lebanese (as there is a strong lebanese influence in the area), with people we meet at the hostel Matt and Chris. It was really nice food and very cheap.

The following day we crossed the border to Argentina. This was a long procedure involving us getting off and on 3 different buses. We arrived at our Hostel in Puerto Iguazu, The Hostel Inn it had a large swimming pool which we took full advantage of for the rest of the day. That night we ate the hostel buffet and met a nice couple Debbie and John. Who we played cards with for the rest of the night.

The next day we visited the Agentina falls, which was larger and had more to do. We went on a boat ride which took us underneath the falls. We got soaked!! We then did the lower trail which gave us a view of the falls below. We got a train to the source of the waterfalls and along the way were literally thousands of butterflies of all different varieties. As you walk along they attach all over your body and stay with you for ages. The end of the trail took us to a view so close to the Devils Throat. We got drenched from the mist but it was amazing to see. The noise was incredible and they were more powerful than we ever imagined. The spray from the falls created rainbows everywhere. We found out later that day that the flood gates had been opened so we had a spectacular show. That evening we watched a Brazilan show in Argentina!!! It was really tacky like we were at Butlins but we had fun and got up for the conga!!.

Great Reading Girls!!!!
Hi Sam and Sam I have been sooo amazed at reading what you both have been up to. I couldn't imagine myself in your position, but oh how I would love to join you right now. I have given your details to everyone they are all following your great journey. Your blog is brilliant. How you find the time in between all them long 18 hour bus journeys I will never know. but at least you are both getting to rest on them.....Maybe sore bums....We went to sarahs football do on Sunday, she played brilliantly and also scored a goal. When you get back I will have to take you to watch her. Everyone says hi. (A special big hello from your Dad, Paul, Emma and Brad) They all love what you are doing. Always asking how you both are. We have a bank holiday Monday off next week yippee! If only I could have a year off like you..... Never mind thats life ....You seem to be coping well with all the different places, people and food. You have some great footage. I love the pics of the waterfalls. wow! what an experience being able to go under them. Can you imagine me with all them butterflies flying aroung me. I think you would hear me scream all the way back to England. I know your next stop is at the end of the world ....spooky....Can't wait to hear your comments. Don't forget to take plenty of photos. Its been great being able to contact you on a regular basis. I really enjoyed talking to you on the internet. We must try with the camera link next time. We can all have a laugh at what we look like or me (jealous) because you are both tanned and I am still white. I better end now. You know what I am like when I get started. I will write non stop for England....Don't worry about anything just enjoy yourselves. Remember keep together at all times and keep in touch on a regular basis. Love you lots mum Vanessa xxxx
