Linda colour coordinating with a roadside shrine.
As Buenos Aires in so big we decided, or at lest Linda decided, that we would stay in three distinct areas. The first was Palermo which is a trendy, yuppie area of Buenos Aires.

If you like to shop, drink and eat then Palermo is the place for you. The area is full of achingly trendy shops, and we spent hours just wanderig around discovering what was around the next corner. We did not buy anything but then nor do many BAs judging my how most people dress. We sat in a cafe for an hour one day and easily 75% of the people who passed were wearing jeans.

People seemed to spend more time deciding how to dress their dogs than themselves, We know this because a big BA activity is having your dog walked. Not by yourself but by someone else. You see them walking down the street with anything from a couple to 20 or so dogs, all trotting alongside them. a fair proportion of dogs are wearing little coats etc, as if having your own fur coat was not warm enough. Still, if you like dogs, as we do, its free entertainment just watching them.

Linda and wooden friend.

The area is full of turn of the century buildings, none of which are alike. Argentine was once one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and the buildings in Palermo certainly reflect this.

Modern archicture or is it. Looks like de Stihl meaning it could be early 1900s or earlier. I only know this because our vacuum cleaner is in the same primary colours and the handbook explained that it was based on de Stihl principles.
