Friday we met the mayor of General Roderequez, an energetic young man. We felt welcome & exchanged gifts - a dream catcher for a flag. Hospitality included a lunch @ Oximoron and a van for our trip to Buenos Aires the next day. In the afternoon we toured the Basilica of Lujan. Every October people pilgrimage by walking 42 miles from Buenos Aires. In the cathedral a father holding a young child asked where we were from. When Bruce gave the girl a Minnesota state quarter, she pulled out a little purse & gave him an Argentinian coin. Sharing is learned early! In the evening we were hosted by a young couple who run marathons. They completed a three day race over the Andes. Mom prepared 15 pizzas for us - another kind of marathon. A ... read more
