Nothing simpler than catching a taxi?
So long as you remember to be standing on the right side of the street, not the left side.

In the centre of BA, the streets usually run one way. So the buses and taxis pick up and deposit passengers on the right side of the street.

You can try hailing a taxi from the left side, but more often than not they will not pick you up.

Also, another thing to look out for is which end of the quadra you stand. A quadra is a city block of 100 numbers. As the streets run one way, if you stand at the wrong end of the quadra, your taxi may have to go around a block or two before going the right way.

Taxis are cheap; but if you're on a budget, then, it doesn't hurt to check directions first.
