Veliko Tarnovo - hidden gem
It looks like Veliko Tarnovo is a hidden gem in Bulgaria. I don't remember us stopping there when we were in Bulgaria. It seems to be a nice. Maybe we should go back and deliberately only stop in places we didn't go to last time. I am sure that many of them has a lot to offer and would be interesting to visit. The places we stopped at without knowing anything all at about sure didn't disappoint us at all. They were all very interesting. On the brown waters of the Danube: You wrote that the water was dirty. It is not necessarily so just because the water is murky. There might be a lot of sediment or algae in the water and that doesn't automatically mean that the water is filthy. Ake you are right - the water of the Danube was murky with sediment, but we were also discussing the fact that we would never chose to swim or relax where there was heavy industry so close to the banks of the river. We were so amazed by how fabulous Veliko Tarnovo was, and it was also an excellent introduction to Bulgaria! :)
