Valley of the kings in Veliko Tarnovo

Today we were travelling south from Bucharest in Romania to Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria.
We headed down to breakfast in the hotel dining room, where I gathered a small feast of muesli, cranberries, dates, yoghurt, warm bread, jam, pastries and fruit tea. We also made some bread rolls with cheese and salami and smuggled them into our bags for the train trip to Veliko Tar

Veliko Tarnovo - hidden gem
It looks like Veliko Tarnovo is a hidden gem in Bulgaria. I don't remember us stopping there when we were in Bulgaria. It seems to be a nice. Maybe we should go back and deliberately only stop in places we didn't go to last time. I am sure that many of them has a lot to offer and would be interesting to visit. The places we stopped at without knowing anything all at about sure didn't disappoint us at all. They were all very interesting. On the brown waters of the Danube: You wrote that the water was dirty. It is not necessarily so just because the water is murky. There might be a lot of sediment or algae in the water and that doesn't automatically mean that the water is filthy.
