I can understand why, as this is an energy drink you are meant to drink to replace body salts lost during perspiration. As the information on the sticker says, it "contains the same amount of salt as body fluids" - hmm, inviting. I just had to give it a go though, and it was actually quite nice...!

Pocari Sweat!
My favorite drink in Japan. I down this by the gallon, especially if I am visiting in the summer. Their summers are brutal, aren’t they?

Ah, glad you like it too! I found it very refreshing after my first onsen experience. Gosh, you're right, the summer here indeed is brutal! Thank goodness for air conditioning!
