After arriving in Chile we took a bus a few hours south to Punta Arenas in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Otway Sound Penguins before they migrated out of the area for the winter. We are a couple in our mid 20's hoping to satisfy our need for traveling. This will be our first trip together to South America (my first trip outside of the United States). We will be backpacking from Argentina to Chile and finish in Peru. We will be trekking through the Patagonian Mountains, possibly visit a penguin colony, check out some glaciers, and end with a trek through Machu Picchu on the Inca trail.
