On the Panamax
We went to Panama a few years ago and of course we had a look at the Panama Canal. The Panamax ships are quite large when you see them up close. However, I had another experience in Bangladesh involving big ships that literally made me forget to breathe when I saw the actual size of them. In Bangladesh they dismantle used ships and recycle the metal. They had maybe a hundred of these gigantic vessels lined up on the beach waiting to be cut up into pieces. I then got to see the entire ship, even the part that normally is under water, and then they are truly gigantic. /Ake
