The starter was goat cheese, stuffed in a roasted pepper, the creamy richness of the cheese perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the pepper. A few crimini mushrooms stuffed with something unknown, also adorned the plate. The hominy croutons didn't seem to fit with the dish - they seemed like soft and salty corn bread. More conventional croutons probably would have made a better accompaniment. Also on the plate were some mixed greens, sliced roasted eggplant, and a drizzle of what I think was basil-infused olive oil. There was too much happening on the plate ... but it seemed to all work, very nicely.
