This miso soup was actually one of the highlights - absolutely delicious, with tasty chunks of fish. One of the great pleasures of dining in Japan is miso soup, and something we thoroughly relish while traveling here - most miso soup we have outside Japan seems to have an instant soup-like quality to it. Almost every bowl you get in Japan has the richest depth of flavour imaginable, and is the epitome of umami.
