Yerevan's Famous Rose Man ...

... the story is that this man used to grow roses and hand them out to women who walked along Abovyan street. He ended up falling in love with a famous actress, and in a fit of jealousy he killed her suitor, and ended up in prison. When he got out, he found that his wife and son had left him, and the house and the rose garden were no longer his. Apparently, he somehow found a way to keep handing out roses until he died, in the 60s.
