Old Stuff - the Karapoti Redwoods
July 10th 2017 About 70 years ago, the New Zealand Forest Service did 'trial plantings' of various species in order to obtain information for future plantation forests. Redwoods (both 'coast redwoods' - Sequoia sempervirens, and 'giant redwoods' - Sequoiadendron gigantea) were tried in a couple of places.
