Fascinating blog Jens. Azerbaijan sounds enlightened in so many least in one way...dress not impeded for Islamic women. And mud volcanoes and petroglyphs like this one...brilliant.

Unexpected impressions
Thanks Dave! After talking to people, most of them said it's due to Soviet times, so even though those times were rough in many aspects, education-wise they did a hell of a good job!
