The lock opened May 27th 2017 The lock master informed us last evening that they were opening the lock on Saturday morning. They increased the flow fir the night so we slept beside a raging misting waterfall. It was bouncy and noisy but we managed to get a good night's sleep. My legs were sore in the morning from trying to stay in bed.

We are newly retired and ready to cruise!
Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida.
Our land home is a small cottage outside of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada. We hope to join cruising regattas organized by the Lewisporte Yacht Club members as they explore the Bay of Exploits, some of the best northern cruising grounds.
