On my way to the Yucatan I stopped in Palenque and Couchsurfed a few nights with a guy who was living just outside the park entrance. I slept on a quite hard massage table in the front room of the second floor open-air loft house. It was a narrow steel table, topped with a reed mat and covered with a blanket.
