Thakhek has the crumbling, former colonial, 3rd world, atmosphere of an oriental Havana-on-the-Mekong. There were other forigners staying at the Thakhek travel lodge, but walking around town, we are definatly a point of attention, & have the feeling that people here do not see alot of forigners.
