I loved how every museum had some sort of timeline that showed events in Colombia in sync with global events. In 500BC when native Colombians were first working with gold, Tiahuanaco in Bolivia was becoming an established city, Rome was founded, the Nok culture in Nigeria was developed and a few years later the Buddha was born.

When I told people in Cartagena that I was headed to Bogota for New Year's they all shuddered, telling me that it was too cold in Bogota.
