Another day where squalls forced us to anchor earlier than planned. Fortunately we were in protected waters so the wind and downpour was not problematic. We reached Boca Grande bridge where the next opening was not for an other two hours. The bridge master told us of an alternate route but it was not on our charts nor was it well marked. We are newly retired and ready to cruise! Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida. Our land home is a small cottage outside of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada. We hope to join cruising regattas organized by the Lewisporte Yacht Club members as they explore the Bay of Exploits, some of the best northern cruising grounds.
