Short day today, a long tow went southbound at 5 in the morning while we were at anchor, not good. Sure enough we left at our usual 7 am and ended up waiting 2 hours at the lock behind that tow. No hardship, we had a nice breakfast fixed our anchor light problem and other little boat chores. It was really hot with hardly a breeze and a hot sun. We are newly retired and ready to cruise! Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida. Our land home is a small cottage outside of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada. We hope to join cruising regattas organized by the Lewisporte Yacht Club members as they explore the Bay of Exploits, some of the best northern cruising grounds.
