Food gurus!
You two are so amazing at finding yummy places to eat and drink! I'm so glad that you loved Kansas City, Missouri. So many foreigners don't really know the US, so they just go for anyplace, while I, a Californian who's crossed the country a dozen times, have never been to those flat plains. Good for you for finding the beauty there, having friends that helped you through that year, and then moving to one of the coasts. That said, I'd die for those brusselsprouts from your first night there. Happy munching!
