Since leaving Hong Kong we've felt a bit rushed for quite a lot of the time. Booking trains and hotels in the high season takes more advanced planning than we're used to, especially in and between Shanghai, Beijing and Xi'an. It's a stunning place, if you haven't had the chance to visit yet I'd recommend putting it on your list. There is a lot of new infrastructure being built at the moment so it looks as though they are gearing up for a massive increase in visitor numbers.
