A Day in Plitvici Lakes National Park
April 21st 2015 21 April 2015 Tuesday. After the huge breakfast which was also enough to make sandwiches for lunch, Mike and I proceeded the couple kilometers to Entrance 1 to the Plitvici Lakes National Park. The park, founded in 1949, is composed of sixteen lakes with travertine rock waterfalls between each one. Water heaven!
Waterfalls, turquoise lakes and these fabulous boardwalks--wow! I've been to lots of travertine sites, but Plitvici Lakes was the biggest of all. Walking on the boardwalks was so magical--like walking on water and so close to the waterfalls! How great that you spent the whole day there!
