Big Lizzie was built to transport wool from Broken Hill. When she arrived at Mildura in November 1917 she was unable to cross the flooded river. She then began life as a tree clearer and stump puller.

Our first night away from Tocumwal was at a quiet little spot 5km out of Moama, on the NSW side of the Murray opposite Echuca. Houseboats and speedboats plied the calm waters until just on dark. The following afternoon saw us settled into a lovely little rest area at Leitchville.
