March 21st 2015 75,000 years ago the explosion must have caused something like a nuclear winter if not a mini ice age. What an amazingly exotic location, and good for you for spending time speaking English with the young ones! You piqued my interest, so I went to wiki and found that the Toba Event Explosion killed off most of the earth's people--and the ones you encountered were descended from cannibals--pretty interesting! Hope Jane's cold is better.
