Rhode Island has definitely become a "day-trip" destination for us as 1) it is an extremely small state and 2) it's only a couple hours from our house. Getting in the car early in the morning, driving to NEWPORT for seafood and a walk-around and being back at home by 10 has become fairly common practice in our household.
