well, it used to be called the dingy dawdle in the old days, and we have fond memories of cheerful boaters (including coracles) dawdling along the canal for the day, just for the fun of it. but its turned into something huge and fast, and is now a triathlon - you cycle 14 miles, boat 11 miles and walk 10, and its a race.
