One of the sights of Nerja is the Balcony of Europe. It is a bluff that juts out into the Mediterranean Sea. A castle and later a fort occupied this spot from the 9th century until the earthquake of 1884. Now it is a pedestrian friendly view terrace. And what a view it is. We are ready to head out. Our first transatlantic cruise leaves Fort Lauderdale on April 12. After 11 days we disembark in Malaga, Spain and begin our travels around Europe. This is our first time there and we are anticipating with excitement all the new people, places and things we will be experiencing.
