Kangerlussuaq er den eneste lufthavn ud over Thule der kan tage store internationale fly. Hver formiddag kommer flyet fra København med næsten 300 passagerer. Efter det store fly er landet kommer en masse små propel fly som bringer passagerene ud til Nuuk og de øvrige byer som har mindre landingsbaner.
