Johan Beetz was a Belgium naturalist who founded the Zoological Society of Quebec. We arrived yesterday in beautiful weather and are docked at the public fishing peer. There is one other fishing boat there. The locals tell me that only one other boat uses the dock and he is gone because fishing is over for now. We are newly retired and ready to cruise! Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida. Our land home is a small cottage outside of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada. We hope to join cruising regattas organized by the Lewisporte Yacht Club members as they explore the Bay of Exploits, some of the best northern cruising grounds.
