Needles.

We took a total of six samples from each tree. Three from the windward side and three from the lee side. Each sample came from a different part of the tree - the crown, the abrasion zone (50 -150 cm above the snow), and a sample from beneath the snow. All from the White Spruce (Picea glauca)
