10 January 2013 The traditional industries of Mangalore are clay tiles, cashew nuts and beady (not sure if that’s the correct spelling!) which we are told is a form of cigarette, rolled in a leaf. GSE 2013

We are taking part in the Rotary D.1190 (Cumbria and Lancashire) Group Study Exchange to India Rotary D.3180 (Karnataka). Although mainly based in Mangalore, we will be travelling throughout Karnataka in South West India. The trip takes place from 2 January 2013 until 2 February 2013. As well as visiting many historical and religious places, we will each spend five days learning about our individual sectors and how they function in India.
