The plan for the day was to hop across the street from our hostel downtown to one of the many car rental places, rent a car and head to Muir Woods and Sonoma County for the day. The problem was the huge lineup at Hertz. We tried one of the others (Alamo I think) that claimed the car would need to be returned by 7pm. It started with a year teaching in Honduras. Then it was home to the COLD winter of Canada to try and pay off some debts, followed by sailing the seas with Norwegian Cruise Lines, working as a youth counsellor.
