Muscat is sprawls out between the Gulf and the Hajar mountains. Since we arrived right after some flash flooding following unseasonably heavy rains, we had to settle for a regular car, as the 4WD we'd rented was being used by locals to get around the flood damaged areas. This put a crimp on some of our plans to get to more remote areas, but we still made the best of it. ... read more
