Cosy Warmth in the Alte Post

We were on our way to Garmisch via Steingaden and the Wieskirche as darkness fell. It was too late to show my mother the Wieskirche but I told her to imagine Ettal Abbey in the middle of a farmfield and she was satisfied. When we reached Unterammergau some sort of accident detoured us around town and held us up for an hour. By then Gail needed a bathroom and we made an unscheduled stop at a gas station. One thing led to another then we were shopping in Lidl and forgot all about Garmisch. Back at the Dedlerhaus we decided to walk down the street and eat locally.

You would think that after going 36 hours without sleep, except for a half hour snooze during Shakespeare on the plane, that I would've had a long night's rest once I climbed into bed.
