Is that a typical way to present food (on a daily basis) or did they do it that way because you were a guest?

Food
I also ate meals like this in North Korea. This type of meal is not eaten on a daily basis, but it does seem to be regular. I noticed my host family eating the same dishes, and also share it with their visiting friends.

It is commom meal in S.korea
we normally eat four or five kinds of different food with rice
